Hi neighbors,
One of the things I enjoy most about living just outside Mooresville is how quickly things shift from town to country. This time of year the farm starts waking up again. The trees are budding, the horses are shedding their winter coats, and our two mini donkeys, Chips and Salsa, seem convinced every visitor has come specifically to see them.
I snapped a few photos of them this week and was reminded how lucky we are to have places around Lake Norman where you can still slow down and enjoy a little open space.
With the warmer weather finally showing up, it feels like everyone is getting back outside again. If you see me around town, feel free to ask about the donkeys⦠theyāve become minor celebrities around our place.

š The biggest New York slices in town

9000 Hambright Rd B, Huntersville
City Boy Pizza is proof that the best neighborhood spots don't need a gimmick when they have a 36-hour slow-risen dough. The atmosphere is grounded and welcoming, perfect for a casual patio afternoon.
The thin, crispy crust handles the weight of their vine-ripened tomato sauce beautifully, but the real insiders know to order the chicken bacon ranch or a Philly cheesesteak on authentic Amoroso bread!

š A New Rhythm for our South Main commute

The Gist: A busy stretch of South Main Street, just past the train trestle into Davidson, has closed for a major season of upgrades. Crews are hard at work realigning the road and building new roundabouts at the DavidsonāCornelius line to help our growing community move more smoothly. While through traffic is being detoured to Potts Street, the neighborhood remains open for business, and you can still reach every local driveway and storefront throughout the project.
Why It Matters: By trading a tricky T-intersection for modern roundabouts and fresh sidewalks, theyāre creating a safer, more connected path for the walkers and drivers who call these streets home. Expect this new traffic pattern to stay in place through early summer, as the closure is projected to last three to four months. Final landscaping and greenery will follow to polish our new corridor by next spring.
šļø A New Chapter for Marathea Plaza

The Gist: Lucern Capital Partners recently purchased Marathea Plaza on Charlotte Highway for $6.3 million. The investment firm plans to refresh the 33,600 square foot retail center through property improvements and new leasing efforts to support the local shops we visit every day.
Why It Matters: This investment ensures our neighborhood service hub stays vibrant and well-maintained as our population continues to grow. The new owners will begin a management program focused on filling vacant spaces and making selective physical upgrades to the plaza.
