Hi neighbors,

This past weekend was a big one for our family. We met Lily’s future in-laws for the first time over dinner at Mi Veracruz Mexican Restaurant, and thankfully it went about as well as you could hope. You never really know how those first meetings are going to go, but everyone seemed to hit it off.

The next day, Stacey and Lily headed over to Tulle Bridal LKN, and Lily found her wedding dress. From what I hear, that’s not always a quick process, so I think they walked out of there pretty happy.

It feels like this time of year kicks off a lot of those bigger life moments around Lake Norman. Weddings, graduations, family get-togethers — everything starts stacking up once the weather turns.

If you’re in that season of planning something big or just looking for a reason to get out and enjoy the area, there’s no shortage of great spots around here to do it. Hit reply and tell me about your favorites!

🍳 Prime cuts and coastal-inspired Easter classics

Peninsula Prime is making a strong case for staying local this Easter with a menu that balances steakhouse roots and seasonal elegance.

On April 5th, the kitchen will add thoughtful features to its full lineup, ranging from a savory Lamb Benedict with garlic persillade to a bright, Amalfi-inspired limoncello cake.

Between the chilled seafood towers and the warm, wood-accented dining room, it’s an effortless, polished brunch that lingers long after the last mimosa.

🍫 Finding something sweet behind the glass

The Leslie family brings a bit of old-school confectionary charm to Peterbrooke Lake Norman. Seeing truffles being hand-dipped behind the counter adds a personal touch that makes this corner of Mooresville feel like a destination.

Their chocolate-covered popcorn is a local staple for boat days, but this week the focus is on those intricate, hand-painted Easter eggs and custom-filled baskets.

Pretty cool to have such high-quality, handcrafted treats available right here in town!

🎨 Cornelius Finds Its Creative Spark at Drawn2Art

The Gist: The Drawn2Art studio in Cornelius recently celebrated a major milestone by hosting its very first art show, showcasing the impressive work of over 100 local students. Owned by Sceinowai Marchant (who moved from California to our lakeside community due to her husband’s NASCAR ties) the studio brings a time-tested, 40-year-old curriculum to the East Coast for the first time. The program focuses on "creativity follows mastery," teaching neighbors of all ages (from 4 to 80!) how to break down complex images into basic shapes.

Why It Matters: It’s pretty special to see more than 100 local students showing off work they’re proud of, and to have a place in Cornelius that’s helping make that happen.

🏆 Mooresville’s Own FOODiversity Takes the National Stage

The Gist: Our very own local nonprofit, FOODiversity, was just named the "Best Food Allergy Advocate" at the prestigious Food Allergy Symposium for Industry held at Boston University. This national nod recognizes the group’s commitment to making sure everyone in our community has access to safe food and the right information, regardless of their budget.

Why It Matters: FOODiversity is helping local families navigate food allergies with more support and less fear, and it’s great to see that work getting recognized beyond Mooresville.
