You may have noticed things look a little different around here. We recently switched to a new newsletter tool, and it gave us a good excuse to freshen up the design too.
The content is still the same kind of stuff you’re used to, but the new format lets us make the newsletter a little cleaner, more visual, and more fun to read.

🍕 The Corner Crust serves up pizza for good
The Gist: The Corner Crust Pizza and Brew in Cornelius has joined the nationwide Pizza for Good campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout September, the restaurant will donate $0.43 from every cheese pizza sold to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Why It Matters: It’s an easy way to support an important cause while enjoying a local favorite. Donations will help fund research and better treatments for children battling cancer.
💜 Mooresville laces up for hope
The Gist: The Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolina Chapter is hosting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Iredell County & Lake Norman on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Liberty Park in Mooresville. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. Participants will carry colorful flowers representing their personal connections to the disease.
Why It Matters: The walk raises money for Alzheimer’s care, support and research while giving local families and caregivers a meaningful way to come together. More than 210,000 North Carolinians age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s, making this cause especially important across the state.
